Amanda has been a personal trainer for 6 years now. She comes to PTC from Jetts where she was recognised for her professional success by winning their Personal Trainer of the Year award twice for the state in 2013/2015, as well as a National award in 2015. This has led to her running a Personal Trainer Mentor Program on behalf of Jetts for new PT’s in the network to help them hit the ground running when they get started.
The driving force behind Amanda’s passion is to help people enjoy being fitter and stronger through exercise, allowing them to enjoy a healthier better quality of life as a result.
Amanda has been able to help people improve their quality of life in a number of ways:
– Weight loss – helping clients to achieve goals of up to 50kg losses.
– Pregnancy – working with pre-IVF candidacy clients and on at least 4 occasions have been able to lose weight, change their mindset and have conceived naturally.
– Mobility/Functionality – after having previous surgery to shave a disc, her client is now able to move more freely and in less pain as a result of functional strength training.
– Self-acceptance – Many of Amanda’s clients have come to her for her knowledge and experience, open personality and caring nature. The goals can be weight loss, maintenance, or even just moving better into the golden years, but all of Amanda’s clients are able to feel more confident in their mind and body.
In an effort to provide a better service for her client base and expand on her qualifications, Amanda is currently enrolled at ECU studying Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. This will help her to further help clients in a more holistic approach.Amanda has been competed in Powerlifting for 2 years now, and at best has achieved a total of 407.5kg (squat 152.5kg, bench 85kg, deadlift 170kg) at 82.5kg. Through powerlifting Amanda has been able to better manage her depression/anxiety through building confidence on the platform and through training.
